300lb Logger Head Turtle!

Finz Dive Center
C
On the afternoon of November 4th, I was guiding Andrea on her very first reef dive in Key West, Florida. Captain Levi and I decided to take her to the reef named Marker 32 because we almost always see sea turtles there. After 35 minutes underwater there was no sign of any sea turtles however I kept my eyes peeled. As we were approaching the last 10 minutes of our dive, in the distance I saw a huge turtle swimming directly towards us! I knew right away it was a Logger Head sea turtle because of his enormous head and beak. I quickly got Andrea’s attention and I could hear her excitement as she yelled “Oh my goodness!” through her regulator. Luckily I had the shop’s Gopro in hand and got some awesome pictures and videos of the curious sea turtle. I even attempted to snap a selfie but he was too big to fit in the picture!
